TUATARA

Software development · Pula, Croatia

We architect, build and keep running the software your business depends on.

Not a sprint-shop that disappears at handover. Tuatara takes a system from architecture through to the years of DevOps and maintenance that decide whether it was worth building at all.

Services

The whole life of a system, not just the build.

Most software fails after launch, not before it. These four pieces are quoted and staffed as one job.

01 — Architecture

Planning that survives contact with reality

Data model, service boundaries, hosting and failure modes decided before the first sprint — because these are the decisions that are expensive to reverse and cheap to get right at the start.

02 — Engineering

Coding, reviewed and tested

Web products, internal tools, APIs and integrations. Elixir and Phoenix LiveView where a product has to feel instant, Python where the work is data-shaped, PostgreSQL underneath.

03 — DevOps

Deployment you can repeat at 2 a.m.

Containerised builds, a reverse proxy that handles its own certificates, monitoring and log aggregation, and a deploy that is one command rather than a page of tribal knowledge.

04 — Support & maintenance

Someone still answers next year

Dependency and security updates, capacity as you grow, and small changes handled without renegotiating a contract every time. The unglamorous part that keeps a system alive.

How we build

We run our own infrastructure, so we know what we are recommending.

Everything we advise a client to self-host, we already operate ourselves.

01

Your code lives somewhere you control

We run our own GitLab at gitlab.tuatara.hr. Your repository, your pipelines, your artefacts — not rented from a platform that can change its pricing or its terms next quarter.

02

Ship small, ship deployed

Work lands behind a real URL early and often, so review happens against a running system instead of a document. It also means the deployment path is proven long before launch day.

03

Automated where a machine is better, checked where it is not

We use AI tooling heavily for the volume — implementations, migrations, translations, test passes — and we verify the output rather than trusting it. Speed comes from the checking being automated too.

04

You keep the keys

Servers, domains, repositories and data stay in your name. Handover is a conversation, not a migration project, because there is nothing proprietary to untangle.

Work

Two platforms we designed, built and still run.

Both are Elixir/Phoenix systems in production, multilingual, with payments or enquiry flows attached.

Both are our own ventures. That is deliberate: we would rather show systems we have had to live with for years than a gallery of launches we never had to maintain.

Also at Tuatara

Two things we do that are not software.

Kept because they are genuinely part of the company, not because they pad the list.
